BAH HUMBUG — This Sucks Big Time… But You Can Help…

Filed under: — The Angry Marketer @ 7:20 pm

Life is often filled with some hard and painful lessons… we learn that there are bad people that like to do bad things and hurt good people (a lot of them children) and couldn’t care less…

My friend Lisa Preston lives up in Canada and at the pub that her sister Carol works at they were collecting money to help provide a cheery Christmas for underprivileged children and their families… they had raised over $7000, which is a nice sum, and were poised to raise more — except that unfortunately some inconsiderate thieving asshole broke into the pub late one night, used a hacksaw to cut through the chain holding the bug jug holding the money and took off with a the funds…

Here is what Lisa recently wrote about this:

Unfeeling, Heartless Monsters!!!

Ever have that deep-down, gut wrenching feeling that makes you just sick in your heart? I woke today to that hollow feeling…

My sister works at a local pub/restaurant that is a long-time fixture in the community, and the staff and patrons are more like family than anything else. Every year, they work tirelessly and generously to raise funds for local children who are without homes, families and more - and who would pass sadly through the Christmas season without any kind of celebration, without a single gift otherwise.

This year, they have a list of 32 little children, and due to their enthusiasm and dedication to raising as much as they possibly could, they were able to raise over $7000 to provide a Christmas celebration for these awesome, eager little kids.

Can you just imagine how those little faces must be shining with hope this year? All smiles, just beside themselves with joy that they won’t pass through the Christmas season without notice this year? The warm and powerful message they are learning about the kindness of strangers?

Well, how do you tell one of those little shining faces - nevermind 32 - that it can’t happen after all?

This morning at 7 am, we were awakened by the phone to learn that the establishment has been broken into… and you guessed it - the filthy thieves stole the Christmas “Grinch Fund” that was lovingly collected and proudly promoted, all for the kids. With a sledgehammer and hacksaw, they were able to disappear with well over $7000… and the kids’ Christmas.

What kind of heartless monster would do such an evil thing?

The tearful staff and customers are heartbroken, but still haven’t given up. Nobody wants the task of telling these kids they won’t have Christmas after all. So in desperation, they are exhausting every avenue to recoup those losses - and I am begging you to help.

Please…

If you have the ability to give to this worthy effort, I’m asking for your generosity this season. ANY amount! It’s so rare to be able to see the tangible effects of a donation, and I know that every single penny will go towards those children.

Let’s help the children these funds were intended for have a fantastic, beautiful Christmas… they deserve it… you can contribute using the widget below (and if you have a forum, blog, website, etc. please consider posting about this story and the widget below — every little bit helps and we can make it even better than before….
