It’s finally up and running… after more than a year and a lot of waiting the “Angry Marketer Diaries” (AMD) makes it’s debut…

But what the hell is AMD?

Let’s go back to the beginning… to a cruise ship off the coast of California in late Oct. 2004…

During that cruise several “unfortunate” things happened that made me blow my stack a few times… some were well founded… others… well, let’s just say that I had a bit of an anger management problem for a few days…

Anyway, during that cruise I was dubbed the “Angry Marketer” by a few of the friends I had aboard with me… they named me that in love and in jest… but to be honest, I earned it and deserved it…

So, when I got back to dry land I decided that maybe I should take up that moniker and do something with it, turn the “experience” into something good… I immediately purchased the domain angrymarketer.com and decided that I was going to do a blog…

Well, that was over a year ago… and in between then and now I took my sweet damn time getting this thing up, alive and running…

Why?

Well, frankly, I’m not a big fan of blogs… most are crap and boring, tons have nothing but bullshit on them, many are used just to create another profitstream… and honestly, I’ve never been a “joiner” per se, more of a loner, an outrageous marketer that doesn’t follow the usual “nose-to-ass” lemming-like behaviour of so many others (and you know who you are!)…

What changed my mind and got me to what you’re reading right now?… Well, I’ve got a lot to say, a lot to get off my chest, a lot to rant, rave and opine about… I have a ton of commentary to spew, bullshit to share, info, ideas, strategies, techniques, concepts to wax poetic about (I am still a marketer after all)… there are things I can talk about here that I normally couldn’t talk about on my regular discussion board (even though there I often tend to vent too!)

Here’s the thing… if you think that AMD is going to be this nice, tactful, politically correct blog like so many others in the marketing arena, well then you’re going to be in for a surprise (maybe a rude one)… it’s not going to be like that…

While not every entry will be an “in your face” expose and red-faced rant, I’m not planning on holding back my feelings and thoughts… at times I will quite literally let everything “hang out”…

You see, I live by one simple and truthful belief… and it’s this “I am politically correct — I offend everyone equally!”… as Dan Kennedy once said (and I’m paraphrasing) “Don’t worry about offending people, because whether you like it or not, nice or not, you’ll offend someone — and if you aren’t offending people then you’re not trying hard enough!”…

This is going to be at times a very “adult” blog… I’ll spill the nitty-gritty… non-nice words will be said… I’ll point out the obvious, the stupid, the insane… strong language may be used and descriptions of products and marketers (good ones and complete assholes too) will be talked about… you’ll find the good, the bad and the ugly… you’ll find frankness and an in-your-face attitude… you’ll find me — The Angry Marketer…

This is not a blog for the easily offended… if you tend to blush at most everything you read then my suggestion is to never visit here again… never! (but I know you will, it’s sort of like having to check out that horrible car-wreck as you pass by)…

I’ll take on marketing, products, other marketers, stuff that’s going on around us in the online/offline marketing world… I’ll talk about what pisses me off and what makes me happy… I’ll share some laughs with you, I’ll talk about my political, social and moral views… I’ll talk about life and love and sex and business and the world around us… we’ll share some seriousness and we’ll share some fun times (life without fun just sucks)…

That’s what the “Angry Marketer Diaries” is about… it’s a spew, it’s a vent, it’s a place for me to rant, rave, rock & roll… it’s about me and you and everyone else…

It’s what I think my blog should be…
